To Charge or Not to Charge

When one becomes a professional Animal Communicator, do you charge a fee for your time and effort? Does it make you any less sincere if you do charge money? It is a service and it would be your time, effort, skills and knowledge toward helping animals and people. Isn't that worth something? My intention is to help animals and people for the greater good of the universe. My question is do I charge money for this service or not? Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.

I live in a town with a lot of animal communicators and have not yet met one who doesn't charge. It's the skill they have chosen for their livelihood, after all, no less than psychics and energy healers. Some are more kind in their choice of charges, though! I have found that the local communicators who are the most talented actually charge the least, ironically.

That is a catch 22. I wouldn't charge because you're talking about a connection that , in all decency, money cannot buy. However I might want to compensate someone for helping me with that, though you would think a truly heartfelt thanks would be all thats needed

I tried to give my grocer a big sincere thanks for some organic apples and a loaf of bread, but he wanted money instead.

"I tried to give my grocer a big sincere thanks for some organic apples and a loaf of bread, but he wanted money instead "

            Poor example.

A grocer invests money into groceries to turn a profit on the market. There are many costs involved in buying the groceries, having them delivered, stocking them,etc,etc....

There is NO cash outlay for a spiritual connection to an animal. We need to get away from materialism and move this species on to something more meaningful and less capitalistic.

Animal communicators often do spend some money in training their abilities. But yes, it would be nice to get away from materialism. Sad that grocers do still want money, or professional animal communicators would be able to do their thing without needing some way to get the cash to buy the fuel which causes their minds to function. While Zayne does have a good point, so do those who hold money as an exchange of energy.

What about offering the animal communicator a nice meal and a friendship? Perhaps the animal communicator could do with some lessons in horticulture or in farming and the "customer" might have those skills. I like the idea of a future where we more or less help each other out in various, useful ways as such.

I really think it just depends on the life situation of the animal communicator. If she has a job and a comfortable living, she may choose to give away or exchange her services. But, I don't understand why she should HAVE to do something that is not her passion to support herself just so she can give away her services. Everyone has to make a living. I'm a massage therapist, and it doesn't cost me anything to put my hands on someone (and yes, that is a sacred connection), but people no more expect me to give away massages than I expect them to exercise their skills for free. I DO trade whenever I can, but the mortgage company doesn't accept massages in lieu of cash, so both trades and cash are important at this time. As a matter of fact, I do some free animal communication for friends, since I can make a living doing massage. I also pay animal communicators to speak to my pets.

Thank you again, I agree with you on charging for services. I do help friends for free, I also do trades when I can. I do need to pay my bills though. My life situation right now is not the best, and I am trying to start my business being an animal communicator.
